Container tilt chassis

Container weighing and unloading

With the combined weighing station the net weights of the 40 foot containers are to be recorded. As with vehicle weighing, the full container must be weighed with a first weighing and then the empty container with the second weighing. The difference results in the net weight. Due to the construction of the tipper chassis, the weighing equipment is completely separated from the construction. For weighing, a weighing frame with 4 measuring cells is hydraulically lifted to decouple the container from the tipping chassis. The hydraulic lift is ensured by special synchronised cylinders and controls. The interlocking with the tilting station is guaranteed. 2 tilting stations are controlled by one control unit.

Operating sequence

A traffic light signals the forklift driver that a new container can be placed. The container ID number is entered at the operating terminal. By pressing the first weighing button the weighing frame is lifted and the gross weight is calculated. The weighing frame is lowered and the Twistlook locks are manually locked by the operator. Now the operator can switch on the tilt protection and tilt the container with the “Up-Down” key. When the container is empty and back in the home position, the Twistlook locking devices must be released and the anti-tipper switched off. As with the first weighing, the empty weight is determined by pressing the button “full locking”. When the weighing process is finished, the traffic light switches to “green” and a new cycle can begin. The weight data is displayed and made available in a data block for higher-level systems.
